Julie’s Run Opening Ceremony
Glendale, Arizona – 03-16-19
ABOUT THE MISSION:
Julie became a police officer in 1983 serving in Colorado. In 1985 she moved to Glendale, AZ and began serving in the police department there. For 6 years she trained trauma for both the DARE and GREAT programs. Later she began teaching school safety nationally for FEMA which led to the Incident Command System, training officers and staff for the Department of Homeland Security and the Arizona Division of Emergency Management. Julie established a health and safety program that led to better safety equipment and training. The safety policies she wrote were established by many police departments throughout the state and nation. In May of 2018 Julie was diagnosed with class 3 Glioblastoma. Due to her illness she was unable to continue working. As she goes through treatment and future surgeries her medical bills continue to rise. We honor Julie for her contributions to our law enforcement brothers and sisters, those heroes who protect us and keep us safe.
