Honor Mission
Joseph William Welling, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

We have been invited by the family of Joseph Welling to join them in honoring the life and military service of their loved one by standing a flag line for his funeral service, and then again at his interment.  For and during his service in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Welling earned the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. This member of the Greatest Generation was with us from January 31, 1919 to October 21, 2018.

Special Instructions:

We will stage at the funeral home.  After assisting the support person with the placement of the flags, if needed, the mission brief will be given.  The riders will then take the flag line to welcome the family and guests of Mr. Welling.  Once the service has begun we will retrieve the flags and return them to the support vehicle where they will be furled and secured for transport to the interment service.  All riders will then proceed on to the cemetery for said interment.

Flags will be provided
Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water will be provided.

Special Instructions:

We will stage at the cemetery then place the flags at the interment site to prepare for the arrival of the procession bringing Mr. Welling, his family and friends.  At the conclusion of the committal service, and at the direction of the ride captain, the flags will be retrieved and returned to the support vehicle where they will be furled and secured.  After the post mission brief all riders will be dismissed.
NOTE: We may be asked to assist with pall bearer duties.

  1. Michelle and I wish to pass on our sincere condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero. We would like to thank this Hero for your service and sacrifice in the protection of our freedom. You will not be forgotten. We pray you rest in peace.
