The family of Cpl Joseph Sheraton has graciously requested the Patriot Guard Rider’s presence to escort, show their final respects and lay their loved one to rest.
Cpl Sheraton faithfully served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 12/13/39 until 12/29/45. Cpl Sheraton was assigned to a Marine Detachment in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Ranger (CV-4 Aircraft Carrier) while it engaged in the Battle of Iwo Jima..
Upon completion of his service to our grateful nation, CPL Sheraton received an Honorable Discharge and awarded (partial list) a Good Conduct Medal (2nd award) and a Marksmanship Badge (Rifle & Pistol).
Note: This is a two-part mission.
Part 1 is an escort only (approximately 45 miles) from the funeral home in Port Charlotte to Sarasota.
Part 2 is a committal service at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota.
Please bring your 3 X 5 American Flags and join us as we stand in silent Honor and Respect for our U.S. Marine, WW II, Greatest Generation Hero and his family.
