ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family has requested PGR riders to stand in honor of their loved one as he stood for us. It will be our honor to do so. Joseph Loyd Carter proudly served his Country in the USAF from September 1968 to February 1973. He served as a Tactical Airlift Pilot. He served with the 62nd Tactical Airlift Squadron and the 16th Special Operations Squadron serving under the 1st Air Commando Wing stationed at the Ubon Air Force Base in Southeast Thailand. He flew combat missions in Laos and Cambodia along with numerous missions in Europe and the Panama Canal. His awards include National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Air Medal.

Flag Line: 12:45 pm until the service begins at 2:00 pm at which time we will stand down and vacate the area. The American Legion will represent the USAF by folding the flag and the playing of taps.
