20 June 2016, Johnny Oliver Bruce, USMC, Vietnam /Greer, Duncan, SC

Once again the Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to stand for one who stood for us at an unpopular time. Mr. Johnny Bruce, served from 1965 – 1969 in the U.S. Marine Corps, including one tour in Vietnam. He earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and his awards include the: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service medal with 2 stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

After his service Mr. Bruce worked as a mechanic, later worked for National Car Rental and finished his work career with Greer City Parks and Recreation, before being disabled.

Assemble: 2:00 pm

Brief: 2:15 pm

Flag line: 2:30 pm

Execution: We will stand up the flag line following the brief and await the arrival of the family. We will maintain the flag line until the beginning of the service (4:00 pm). Upon completion of the service, we will stand down and prepare for the escort of approximately 4 miles.
