ABOUT THE MISSION:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, We have been invited to celebrate and honor a hero from “The Greatest Generation”, 98 year old John S. Tolleshaug. Our hero saw action in Normandy at Utah Beach, Northern France, Rhineland and the Ardennes. He earned the following medals, the Silver Star, The Bronze Star, Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster, and the European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Stars. John was a Communications Officer, a Scout and Forward Observer working with Field Artillery. Our hero was very active after his service with the 4th Army Division and the local VFW. Our Hero’s family describes John as a quite, mellow businessman, a gentleman’s gentleman. This is a two part service, we will form a grave site flag line followed by a RHG escorting the family to a location in Longview, WA.
