ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of John Peters has graciously requested the Patriot Guard Riders’ presence as they show their final respects and lay their loved one to rest.
First Class Fireman Peters faithfully served his country in the US Navy on the USS Haggard DD-555 and was honorably discharged. His awards include the Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/2 stars, Pacific Theater Ribbon w/4 stars, European Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and a Purple Heart.
After his discharge, John worked for 42 years at the Erie City Iron Works/Zurn Industries until he retired.
John is survived by 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Please bring your 3 X 5 American Flags and stand in Honor and Respect for our US Navy Hero and his family.
There will be a short (on site) escort to the burial site following the service. Flag bikes will not be needed.
Please hydrate.
