ABOUT THE MISSION: Short Notice
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard, please join us in standing for fallen veteran John Detjen, just as he once stood for every one of us. Veteran Detjen began his 16 year military career in November of 1956, where he served in the United States Navy as a Damage Control Petty Officer 3rd Class aboard the U.S.S. Norfolk.
He later finished his military duty in 1978 after serving in the United States Army National Guard, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant and achieving many awards, including the Sharpshooter Badge (M-16), U.S. Army Components Achievement Medal, Non Commissioned Professional Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army National Guard Recruiter Badge, Missouri National Guard State Emergency Duty Ribbon, and the Missouri National Guard Long Service Ribbon (5 years).
