His military awards include Bronze Star with Combat V, Purple Heart, Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal (2 awards), Battle “E” Ribbon (6 awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 stars, Southeast Asia Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3 awards) Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal.
