Mission Narrative:
John “Jack” Kyte served in the US Navy from 1943-1945, and was Honorably Discharged on 6 December 1945 with the rank of Machinists
Mate 2nd Class. During his 2 years, 8 months of Service, Mr. Kyte was stationed at Naval Base Mayport, FL., USS YP 501, Air Transport
Squadron 10, and USS Berrien (APA-62.) The USS Berrien was involved in the Invasion of Iwo Jima and the Invasion of Okinawa.
For his WW-II Service to our Nation, MM2 John Kyte was awarded: American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal w/2 Battle
Stars, and WW-II Victory Medal.
Region-1 is very busy, with 3 Missions on Monday and 2 Missions on Tuesday. Please do your best to help us support one or more of the
