AFTER ACTION REPORT: PVT John C Donovan, US Army Veteran, Sapulpa, OK

Saturday, 17 August 2019 was a hot, humid and partly cloudy Oklahoma day. The PGR staged and briefed at the Green Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Flags had been posted around the tent and interment site and were blowing gently in a light wind. This was a memorial and interment service for Mr. Donovan. The service was opened and presided over by a priest from the local church. After the service was over and John C Donovan was interred the PGR began Military Honors. A Thank You was given to the family, Taps were “live” played by a PGR rider, the flag was folded and presented to one of Mr. Donovan’s daughters. The PGR plaque and Invocation Letter were read and also presented to the daughter. The daughter then stood, holding her fathers flag, faced the standing family and friends, and a Final Salute to the flag, honoring John C Donovan’s service was given. All were seated and the PGR was dismissed.

Thank you to the Donovan family for inviting the PGR to honor this Hero. Thank you to the many PGR riders that took time out of their day to “Stand and Honor” this Hero.

“Rest in Peace” John C Donovan, US Army Veteran, your mission is complete, you are gone, but your service to this Great Nation will never be forgotten.

    Respectfully submitted:
    Mike “Penni” Pennington
