Joe Bill Brannon, Retired

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Master Sergeant Joe Bill Brannon served in the United States Air Force and had two tours in Vietnam as a Radar Maintenance Technician. In 1978 after completing more than 20 years of service MSgt Brannon retired and began a second career with the US Post Office. Joe Bill was well known for his volunteerism, his lifelong calling was to go to bed each night feeling competent that he helped somebody that day and made a difference in the life of someone less fortunate. He volunteered for more than twenty-five years at The Statesboro Food Bank where he was a former CEO and President. When he received the Jefferson Award, an award that recognizes local heroes, he was quoted as saying “This is my hobby, my life”. Joe Bill was also active in the Lions Club where he was a Past District Governor, a Past Council District Chair, and Lion of the Year in 2003. He was also a past member of the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Citizen of the Year in 2010, he was also a Shriner. Joe Bill received many awards and accolades for his volunteer service to the community.

We will stand a flag line as family and guests arrive for the viewing. We will provide a short LEO led rolling honor guard to Bulloch Memorial Gardens. We will again stand a flag line for the graveside service. We will maintain social distancing in accordance with CDC and local guidelines during all portions of this mission.
