Honor Mission
Jesse Harris Vardaman Jr., Veteran
Canton, Georgia – 09-22-20


The Patriot Guard Riders have the distinct honor and privilege of standing for a member of the greatest generation,  Petty Officer Second Class Jesse (Jack) Harris Vardaman Jr, a United States Navy Veteran. PO2 Jack Vardaman served in World War II on DD-551 USS David W. Taylor while the ship was acting as an escort for a convoy carrying occupation troops to Japan. Jack and his fellow troops escorted the first US Representative to Kyushu to accept the 1945 surrender of Japan.
Jack faithfully served his country in the United States Navy from January 1943 to February 1946. PO2 Vardaman received the American Area Victory Medal WW II, Philippine Liberation Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal with 6 stars, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

Stage in the right parking lot. After a safety briefing, we will line up for a LEO assisted rolling honor guard to Georgia National Cemetery. KSU is at 9:30 am

Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

Stage at the flag pole and await the arrival of the escort. We will move to the assigned shelter when appropriate. Face covering is required while at the shelter. This service is scheduled for 10:30 pm.

Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water will be provided.
