Mission Complete: 22 August 2019, Jerry L. Wilson, USN
On Thursday, 22 August 2019, there were 10 Patriot Guard Riders on 9 bikes and 1
cage who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of Jerry L. Wilson, USN at
the Soldier Creek Baptist Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Riders were present at the church when the coach arrived, and served as pallbearers
as well as standing a Respect Line as Mr. Wilson was transferred from the coach into
the chapel.
The American Flag flew proudly in the breeze outside the church, the briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue,Silver, and Gold Star families, POW’s and MIA’s. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.
PGR members stood the Flag Line with the USN service flag and an American Flag a the
entry, and manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the service.
When the service started, PGR members retrieved the flags and stored them in the Flag vehicle, then stood by until the conclusion of the service to stand a Respect Line as the Hero was transferred from
the chapel to the coach.
With the PGR riders leading the coach, family and friends to the Byars Cemetery, another Respect Line was formed while the pall bearers carried out Hero from the coach to the bier.
Military Honors were preformed by the Navy Honor Detail. The RCIC thanked the family for inviting us to come and Honor the Military Service of their loved one.
The Riders read the Plaque and invocation and presented them to the Hero’s wife with printed condolences from PGR members nationwide.
Thank you to all my fellow PGR riders for attending this mission. Your presence made
a difference to this family. Most of all, thank you Jerry L. Wilson for your service to this
great Nation. Rest in Peace Sir, your watch is over, but you will never be forgotten.
Respectfully,
RCIC: Jimmy (airride) Gaines
