ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders will stand a flag line for LT Jerry Gale Powers (77). LT Powers started his Navy career as an enlisted member and converted to LDO where he made it to the rank of LT. He served his country honorably for 27 years. During his time in service, he served with VA-34, VA-174, VA-81, VA-105, COMLATWING-1, and VQ-3 with deployments aboard the USS Intrepid, USS Randolph, USS Forestall, USS Saratoga. His final tour was with VFA-106 where he was Training Officer before being transferred to the Maintenance Department as the Avionics/Armament Division Officer. He also served in the Military Secret Service. Awards include National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5 awards), Navy Unit Commendation Medal (2 Awards), Navy Achievement Medal, Battle “E” Ribbon (3 awards), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Navy Pistol Sharpshooter Ribbon Please join us as we stand as the family pays their final respects to their loved one.
