Mission Complete: 19 Sept. 2019– Jeffrey Blaine Alexander, Firefighter, Sterling / Grady Co., OK.
On Thursday, Sept. 19 2019 there were 11 Patriot Guard Riders on 8 bikes/trikes and 2 cages who attended the mission to Honor the Service of Grady Co. Firefighter Jeffrey Blaine Alexander at the Sterling High School Gymnasium.
Upon arrival at the venue, the briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver, & Gold Star families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.
The Riders stood holding American Flags and manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the service.
When the service started, Riders placed the flags in the flag trailer and rode to the cemetery to prepare the gravesite prior to the arrival of the Hero, his family, friends and co-workers.
When the coach arrived, the Grady Co. Fire Dept. Bagpiper played as members of Fire Departments from surrounding Counties, Cities and Towns, and the Riders stood a Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the coach to the bier.
After a short grave side service, the Grady Co. Fire Dept. rendered a final salute to their fallen Brother, and PGR presentations were made to the Hero’s parents.
Thank you to my fellow PGR for attending this mission. Your presence made a difference to this family. Most of all, thank you Jeffrey Blaine Alexander, for your service and dedication to your neighbors, friends, and family.
Stand down Sir, your watch is over, and you will not be forgotten.
Respectfully,
RCIC Ray “rayneman” Gehrig
