The family of Jay Sutton has invited the Patriot Guard to stand a flag line in honor of his life and service to our country.

Jay served in the US Marine Corps. Shortly after graduation from Harding High School in 1964, Jay enlisted in the US Marines Corps. He was assigned to Kilo Company, Third Battalion, Seventh Marines and deployed to Vietnam. He was involved in Operations Morgan, Jackson, Prairie, Sterling and Desoto was awarded the purple heart, He never missed a Kilo 3-7 reunions and hosted the 2005 reunion in Minnesota.

From his family: Jay was a huge supporter of the Patriot Guard and wanted you all to be part of his service. He mentioned this each year at Wreaths Across America. Jay attended every memorial service for a fallen Marine held in Minnesota and surrounding states. He made sure to also attend every Welcome Home for the US Marines and Army Solders. If he noticed that a Soldier had no one to greet them he would say “Semper Fi, Can I buy you a hot meal and a drink soldier?”. I once asked how he knew know nobody was there to greet the Soldier and he said “You just know by the look in their eyes.”

Please come out and stand in silent tribute to Jay’s life and service to our country.
