Eleven experienced PGR members arrived at this mission to honor Pvt Pettainen. Mission brief and ride to cemetery were uneventful. Flag line was set at 1500 and were ready to honor our HERO at his inurnment. This was a bit of a different mission as the funeral service and military honors had been done several months ago. The family decided they wanted to place our HERO’s remains in the columbarium on his 49th birthday. Appropriate honors were rendered during movement of Jason. The family was most appreciative of our presence and attended the debrief to thank all of us. She was told that it was an honor, privilege and calling for us to be there and we expressed our thanks for being invited. A very hot and long stand but a very heart rendering mission.
