Paul was an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Army. Paul  always had a desire to fly\, so he tried taking a plane up one time and  caused damage. A native of Clara\, MS\, Paul went to Ole Miss and played  one semester of football but his size stopped him from playing another.  He was an avid football fan\, but especially of the 49’s. His daughter  said he was a very quiet man. He was a workaholic. Paul worked as an  elevator repair person and was a member of their union.  Before working  in the elevator field\, Paul spent some time as a police officer in  Mobile\, AL.He was raised in Mississippi by his grandfather who was a  minister.
