A2C James “Jim” Nason, USAF, Vietnam Veteran
Bennington, VT and Schuylerville, NY
13 JUNE 2016
At the request of the family the Vermont Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to provide a Joint Mission to include a dignified transfer, escort, and a flag line in conjunction with the Patriot Guard Riders of New York for fallen HERO A2C James “Jim” Nason, USAF, Vietnam Veteran.
A2C James “Jim” Nason served his country honorably during the Vietnam War from 1961 through 1967. He was a jet engine mechanic stationed at Phu Cat Air Force Base, Vietnam. His DD-214 includes the Good Conduct Medal and was noted for a Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Veteran Nason also has his name inscribed on one of the monuments at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, VT.
Veteran Nason leaves behind his wife Donna and six children. The family asked me to include information about how he was an avid Harley Davidson motorcyclist, that he rode for 54 years, and his last motorcycle was a Harley Davidson Heritage Softail. They described him as a “very, very Proud American” and said it was his wish to have the Patriot Guard Riders involved.
The Patriot Guard Riders will be privileged to be there to render Honor, Dignity and Respect for the life and service of A2C James “Jim” Nason, USAF, Vietnam Veteran.
This will be a TWO PART MISSION
