James Marvin Jones Jr, Retired, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:
James Marvin Jones Jr. was a United States Air Force veteran. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1985.  Lt Col Jones was trained as Air Weapons Controller. He also served as Personnel Programs Officer and Staff Officer. He was Director of Personnel Management for 4 years 7 months. He served two deployments in Vietnam. Also two years in Alaska and finished his career at Williams AFB Arizona. Notable training included Air and Weapons Controller Courses, Interceptor Weapons Schools, Combat Operations Specialist Courses, Personnel Officer Course, CBPO Chief Management, Air Command and Staff College. Lt Col. Jones was released from active duty and honorably discharged in November 1985.
While in the service of his country Lt Col Jones earned the Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Combat Readiness Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.After retirement from Air Force James Jones was active in the City of Mesa serving on the Chamber of Commerce. Also served in raising funds for the Banner Hospital and in the construction of the Banner Heart Hospital.
