DESCRIPTION:James Martin Mendell\, Retired\nUSA  – Korea\nANC\, Virginia – 25 Aug 2017\n\n[HR][/HR]\nABOUT THE MISSION: \n\nRetired USA Major James Mendell\, 86\,  from  Pensacola\, Fla.101 Airborne Division\, 10th Special Forces Group\, USA  Medical Service Corps\, died 20 March 2017 after a short battle with  leukemia. \nMajor Mendell was born in Walla Walla. He served in the USA for 22 years  with assignments in Japan\, Korea Germany and Washington D.C. He served  as Adjunct Professor teaching for overseas branch of the University of  Maryland. Returning to Washington D.C. in 1968\, Maj. Mendell was the  Special Asst. to the Controller\, Office of the Surgeon General USA.  After retirement in 1970\, he went into Hospital Adm. and Medal Group  Management in Columbus\, Ohio. \nMaj. James Mendell is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of  Arlington National Cemetery on 25 Aug. 2017 at approximately 1100hrs  from the Administration Building. PGR has been invited to attend the services by his family and we will be there to stand tall\, silent and  proud in honor of Maj.
