ABOUT THE MISSION:
Major Mendell was born in Walla Walla. He served in the USA for 22 years with assignments in Japan, Korea Germany and Washington D.C. He served as Adjunct Professor teaching for overseas branch of the University of Maryland. Returning to Washington D.C. in 1968, Maj. Mendell was the Special Asst. to the Controller, Office of the Surgeon General USA. After retirement in 1970, he went into Hospital Adm. and Medal Group Management in Columbus, Ohio.
Maj. James Mendell is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 25 Aug. 2017 at approximately 1100hrs from the Administration Building. PGR has been invited to attend the services by his family and we will be there to stand tall, silent and proud in honor of Maj. Mendell, his family and comrades at arms.
