DESCRIPTION:James Mark Stadtler II\, 90\, Cascade\, MD\, Veteran \nUSN – WWII \nArlington\, Virginia – 26 Apr 2017\n\n[HR][/HR]\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nS2c James Mark Stadtler II\, 90\, of Cascade\, MD\, died peacefully on 22 Jan 2017. A United States Navy Veteran of WWII\, he participated in many naval combat operations in the Pacific Theater. He joined the Navy at age 17 in 1943\, and was assigned to the USS Courier (DD700) and the USS Raby (DE698). S2c Stadtler\, part of the “Greatest Generation”\, proudly served his Nation\, and was the recipient of many awards and commendations including the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal\, African/Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. After his discharge in 1946\, he entered the trades as a Roofer. He leaves and large and loving family\, and will be missed by all. \nS2c James M. Stadtler II is to be inurned on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 26 April 2017 at approximately 1300 hours from the Administration Building. PGR has been invited to attend the services by his son and we will be there to stand tall silent and proud in honor of this WWII Veteran\, his family\, friends and comrades at arms.
