The PGR has been graciously invited by the family of James M Baratka USMC to stand for their loved one and our hero.

James (Jim) M Baratka was born on August 7 1941 and died on August 23 2016.

1st Sgt Baratka (retired USMC) served from 1959 to 1979,he was in explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and also served as a Drill Instructor at Parris Island SC, He served two tours in Vietnam and retired from the Marine Corps in 1979 at Quantico, VA.

Some of his honors and decorations included: Combat Action Ribbon, Letter of Appreciation 4, EOD insigna, Good conduct medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 stars, Meritorious Mast, Navy Unit Citation (Sixth Award) Vietnam Combat Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Merit Unit Citation, Merit Unit Citation of Gallantry Cross with Palm.

He was also a member of AL Post 71, Lake Whales FL, and aslo voluntereed at hospice and the travelling Vietnam Veteran Wall Memorial and St Vincent De Paul.
He is survived by his lifelong friend, Josephine Recklis, their three children and four siblings.

Briefing: 1015

Setting up the flag line immediately following the briefing, before the beginning of the service at 1100.

At the end of the service PGR will help with the dignified transfer of the urn from the church to his grandson motorcycle.

Once transfer is done, the PGR will provide and escort to Quantico National Cemetery and set up a flag line at the Shelter before the service, beginning at 1300.

This will be an escort at highway speed, so make sure your flags are mounted properly, the RC in charge will check all the mounts.

Flags for both flag lines will be provided for this mission.

Concealed/Carry permits are NOT recognized on military installations and Federal installations Therefore do not bring any weapons to this mission
