Honor Mission
James Leslie Bowman, Retired

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of US Army Vietnam veteran (Retired) Sargent Major James Leslie Bowman ( 70 ) has requested the Patriot Guard Riders for the final mission of their loved one.
James “Jim” served his country for 25 years.  His military career took him all over the world.  In service of the Defense Intelligence Agency he served in United States Embassies in Afghanistan, Belgium, Singapore and the United States.  He earned the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal (8th award) , Vietnam Service Medal w/ 3 Bronze Service Stars, NCO Professional Development Ribbon Numeral 4, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon Numeral 3, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Rifle and Pistol Badges, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Unit Citation Badge W/ Palm, & National Defense Service Medal W/ 1 Service Star.
After retiring from the Service Jim Worked for the Kansas Turnpike Authority as a supervisor for 14 years.  He enjoyed collecting coins and RV camping.

Immediately following service the PGR will escort to Jefferson Barracks Cemetery ( 62 mi ) for interment with full military honors.
