James “Jim” Schaefer, age 70, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was born on April 19, 1948 to the late Peter and Anne (Kelly) Schaefer. Jim was in the Army for 7 years, where he was a combat medic in Vietnam War in which he received a Purple Heart for his service. He was an advocate for veterans and was a lifetime member of the DAV Manawa Chapter #53. His memorial service was December 12th and the family would now like us to join them as Jim is laid to rest.

  1. My condolences go out to the family of James “Jim” Schaefer. I am sorry that I and unable to attend his burial on May 8th. I thank James “Jim” Schaefer for his service to our country and the sacrifices he had to make to keep our beautiful country United States of America safe. God bless and Speed.
