ABOUT THE MISSION:
Jim was born on November 30, 1929, to Bill and Katherine Richardson of Ruston. After graduating from Ruston High School in 1949, he started his career with Southern Bell. That same year he was drafted into the Army where he served in Korea during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1951. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal – 2 Bronze Camp Stars as well as the United Nations Service Medal. During his service in the Army, he married the love of his life and became charter members of the Caney Lake Good Sams camping club. They enjoyed traveling and camping with the camping club and were members for 20 years. They made annual trips to Quartzsite, Arizona to camp with family and friends. Jim was a member of the Ruston Church of Christ from an early age. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings. Jim is survived by his wife of 70 years, 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
