DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nJames Gerald Cates\, KIA\nUSA – Korea\nMobile\, Alabama – 09-10-19\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nAnother Korean War Veteran has been identified after 69 years and is being returned to his homeland on 10 September 2019 after being an unknown soldier until May 31\, 2019.  Master Sergeant Cates was a member of Company I\, 3rd Battalion\, 31st Infantry Regiment\, 7th Infantry Division. He was originally listed as MIA while fighting the enemy in North Korea on December 3\, 1950\, in the Chosin Reservoir\, and then presumed dead on December 31\, 1953.\nHe was known to his family as “Jabbo.”  His reported DOD last known home of record was Fort Benning\, Georgia\, originally from Mississippi. He was the son of James W. Cates and Mollie or Nellie M. Cates.\nIt shall be our honor to escort him from the Mobile Municipal Airport (flight arrives +/- 7:30 p.m.) to Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.  LEO will be provided.  Funeral arrangements are planned for September 21\, 2019 and the details will follow prior to that date.  I encourage all riders\, regardless of affiliation\, to welcome this Hero home.\n\n\nPRIMARY STAGING DETAILS: 09-10-19 \nStaging Time: 6:15 p.m.  \nAmbassador Plaza Parking Lot (adjacent to Briquettes Steakhouse)\, (intersection Schillinger Rd and Airport Blvd.)\n312 Schillinger Rd.
