Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of James G. Henderson to stand in honor of their loved one’s life and service to our nation. SPC3 James Henderson served our country in the United States Army from 18 November 1953 to 26 September 1957. One of his duty stations during his service was in Korea. After his honorable discharge he went to college and graduated with a degree in Agriculture and a minor in Science. He was the first in his family to complete college. After graduation James went into teaching. His family expressed his love for the students he taught. James did not limit his teaching skills to the classroom. He would find the interest of his students and would involve them in community service. He and his students could be found planting flowers in someone of the communities’ yard or possibly in the town of Estill itself, or you might find them delivering benches that they had built themselves. As you can tell Mr. Henderson was very active in his community. James spent his final days living at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, S.C.
