James Frank “Jim” Nelson, Veteran

James F. Nelson passed on Thursday 23 July 2020. Jim enlisted in the United States Navy following high school. He trained at the US Navel Submarine School in New London,  CT and at Great Lakes. He was a Patrol Boat Captain and Qualified Submariner during Vietnam. He had 7 years service 3 of which were at sea. He served during the TET Offensive, aboard the USS Carbonero SS337. Jim was wounded by shrapnel from a grenade and was a POW and made it home.
