James E Vickery

Honor Mission
James E Vickery, Veteran
USN –
Maple Valley, Washington – 07-29-19

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have once again been requested by family members to stand a flag line to honor Ensign James Elmer Vickery, U.S. Navy, at his final Military Honors. Ensign Vickery served our country honorably from 14 August 1961 until 30 November 1965, when he was medically discharged. Ensign Vickery served aboard the USS McMorris (DE 1036) from 17 November 1961 until 11 August 1963 when he was assigned to Short Service Commission School. At the completion of SSC training he returned to the USS McMorris where he served until he was injured on 27 March 1964. The family was not able to provide any awards, medals, citations or commendations that Ensign Vickery may have received. Let’s stand in honor of one of our Nation’s heroes that sacrificed so much.
