ABOUT THE MISSION:

Retired as an AS1 with 22 years service.

We have been invited by the family of AS1 James Dallas Cumbo, Sr. (USN, Retired) to join them in honoring the memory and military service of their loved one. We will do this by standing a flag line at the funeral service, joining them in the procession to the cemetery and then again standing a flag line at his interment service.

Special Instructions:
After the flags are set and the mission brief has been given, we will stand the flag line to receive the family and guests of James Cumbo. Once the service starts, we will retrieve the flags, furl and stow them in the support vehicle. Those not riding in the procession will be dismissed to proceed on to DFW National Cemetery for the interment portion of this mission. For those riding in the procession, the ride captain will give the safety brief and the bikes staged prior to the departure of the procession.

Special Instructions:
After the brief has been given at the Visitor’s Center the flag bikes will be assigned (if needed) and relocated to the staging lane. The remaining riders will proceed to the assigned shelter to set flags and prepare for the arrival of the procession with Petty Officer First Class Cumbo, family and friends. At the conclusion of the committal service, and at the direction of the ride captain, the flags will be retrieved, furled and returned to the storage unit behind the shelter. Once the debrief has been given all riders will be dismissed.
