Honor Mission
SPC James D. “Daddy-O” Hammons, Veteran
USA, ARNG –
Cabot, Arkansas – 05-01-20

ABOUT THE MISSION:

We are honored to stand for SPC James Dennis “Daddy-O” Hammons. PFC Hammons joined the Army National Guard on 23 May 54 and was called to Active Duty from 24 Sep 57 to 8 Mar 59. No medals or awards are available at this time. After service he worked for Archer Drug Company, then worked at GE until his retirement. He loved fishing, bowling, and dancing. He taught his kids to fish when they were barely old enough to hold a pole, to dance by standing on his feet, and play poker by sitting on his lap. He especially enjoyed gathering the entire extended family for an annual camping trip to one of the area parks. His daughters were always able to approach him about anything, and by association neighborhood kids also benefited from his non-judgemental guidance. He is preceded in death by his wife, brother, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. He is survived by 4 daughters, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and 1 sister.
