ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Mr. Jack William Hood, a US Marine and US Air Force Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. William Jack Hood passed away on Sunday, Feb 17, 2019 at his home at the age of 95. Mr. Hood was born January 9, 1924 in Monaca/Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He felt compelled to join the Military as a Marine after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1942 at the age of 17. He participated in the Guadalcanal and Bougainville campaigns. After WWII ended, he went back home to Pennsylvania to work in the steel mills. Feeling unfulfilled, Jack decided to join the Air Force in 1949. His first assignment was Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX. He then had subsequent assignments that took them to North Carolina, Arizona, Japan, California, Germany and Ohio. He retired from active duty in 1966.
