ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Major Jack P. Carrodus, U.S. Air Force, has asked for the Patriot Guard to stand and honor their loved one for his 20 year faithful service to our country. It will be our honor to do so. Maj. Carrodus joined the USAF in January 1954 and served in both the Korean and Vietnam theaters as a pilot flying VooDoo F-101 aircraft. During his service, he was shot down twice. He was able to eject safely but sustained frost-bite on one occurrence. He had 18 years active and 2 yrs Reserve duty. Major Carrodus had numerous Commendations, including: Bronze Star, Air Medal w/silver star, Meritorious Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ Palm, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award w/ 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Good Conduct Medal. As he once stood for us, we will now stand to Honor his Legacy.

Special Instructions:
Meet at NE corner of parking lot, nearest the church along Johnson Ferry Rd. After a briefing we will establish a flag line and stand from 2:00 pm until the beginning of the church service at 3:00 pm. We will quietly break down and depart. Anyone wishing to attend the service is welcome per his daughter.
Coronavirus precaution disclosure: Please bring a mask and wash hands often, be prepared to follow the guidelines from state and local officials as well as facility or cemetery guidelines to be outlined at mission briefing. A general record of attendees will be held by ride captain for a period not to exceed 2 weeks in the case of the need for contact tracing. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of attending a mission please contact Ride Captain with that information, your name will NOT be disclosed. Those who are sick, have a household member or other close contact who is sick should not attend and those who have higher risk of severe illness should weigh the benefits of in-person attendance against risk of exposure to a person with COVID-19, especially if recommendations for wearing masks and social distancing may be difficult to follow for themselves or others.
