Honor Mission
J. David Carr, Veteran
Woodstock, Georgia – 11-20-20

We have lost another WW II veteran. The Patriot Guard  Riders are honored to stand in recognition of the service of  Lieutenant John David Carr as he once stood for us.
Lieutenant Carr graduated from the University of Ohio in 1942 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. He then graduated from law school and passed the bar prior to joining the navy. He served his country actively from May 1944 to July 1946, then in reserves until 1958. While on active duty during WWII, he served in the Pacific fleet on an Admiral’s staff as a research engineer planning the invasion of Japan. After his active duty service, he went to work for US Steel Corporation for 42 years before his early retirement. While working at US Steel he received numerous recognitions for his work over the years. In his spare time, he spent over 60 years with the Boy Scouts of America. He served on 10 councils and held offices both locally and nationally. For his service in the BSA, he received the Silver Beaver and Silver Antelope awards. For relaxation, his love for golf was lifelong. He and his wife were able to play many great courses in the USA and Scotland.
