Honor Mission
Hugh Richard Bergman, Veteran
USA – Korea
St. Louis, Missouri – 04-06-21
St. Louis, Missouri – 04-06-21
ABOUT THE MISSION:
It is a most distinct honor and a privilege for the Patriot Guard Riders to stand a flag line of honor and respect for United States Army Veteran Hugh Richard Bergman, 89, and escort him to Resurrection Cemetery where he will receive full military honors. PFC Bergman proudly served his country from June 1951 to October 1955, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Born on Flag Day, Mr. Bergman missed an opportunity to go on an Honor Flight last year. It will be an honor to stand for him this day. Hero Bergman, a grateful nation thanks you and is indebted to you for your honorable service. Your sacrifices have granted us the freedoms we continue to enjoy to this very day. Thank you and Godspeed.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there,,I did not die
Nancy and I send our sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one, and an American Hero. We are grateful for United States Army veteran Bergman’s military service to our country and the courage to stand in harms way to protect and preserve our freedom and liberties! May he never be forgotten!
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
