On Thursday, 15 MAY14, Gloucester Township, NJ will honor their WWII Vets with a special ceremony to be held at Timber Creek High School, 501 Jarvis Road, Gloucester, NJ. Since the ceremony will be held at the high school during school hours, the ceremony and presentation of awards and speeches will be held in the auditorium at the high school.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to help salute our heroes on this their special day. We will be creating a flag line at the entrance to the auditorium adjacent to the parking lot the veterans will be using after arriving at the high school. We will hold the flag line from 0800 to 0915. Once the auditorium doors are closed at 0915, we will break down the original flag line and then reform another flag line at 1015 as the veterans are taken from the auditorium to a special brunch being prepared in their honor in another location in the high school.

Our opportunities to honor these heroes are becoming fewer and fewer as they as they get older and older. We thank the Timber Creek High School’s organizing committee for the opportunity to once again celebrate the achievements of the Greatest Generation.

*We will proceed to the high school directly from the Walt Whitman Rest Area. Expected arrival time at Timber Creek High School is 0715. All riders should proceed onto the high school grounds and pull into the first parking lot on the right. All of the parking spaces down the right side of the parking lot are lined and we should park the bikes along this right most curb. At this time, weather does not appear to be a factor for mission day. Again, due to oh dark thirty hour, I will have coffee and donuts for the early arrivals. We need as many folks as we can get for this one because the flag lines are going to be rather extensive. We are counting on you guys and gals, and so are the Veterans. I ran into a few and they cannot wait. Ride safe everyone.
