Patriot Guard Riders

The Sacramento Mountain VFW POST 11999 from Cloudcroft, NM has invited the FWT and PGR to escort members of the Warriors In Transition Project from Fort Bliss, TX to Cloudcroft, NM for a weekend retreat. Air Force members from Holloman and Kirtland Air Force Bases will meet the group in Alamogordo. The FWT PGR will escort the Army group from Fort Bliss to the Edge of Texas restaurant where the SENM PGR will take over the escort. We will make a short stop at the J&J Mini Market; 1957 US54, Alamogordo for refueling (if required) and to join with the Air Force contingent. A second stop will be made at the Trestle Overlook on US Route 82 for a welcome by the VFW Commander, a Forest Service briefing, and a visit by Smokey the Bear. Lunch will then be served at Mad Jack’s restaurant in Cloudcroft. All PGR escort personnel (FWT and SENM) are invited to attend the lunch and meet the warriors taking part in the weekend’s activities. PGR support will be ended after lunch.

Special Instructions:
The SENM PGR will rally at the “OLD” Wal-Mart parking lot on the corner of U.S. Highway 70 West and U.S. Highway 54 South at 0730 hours, Mission briefing at 0745, KSU at 0755. The FWT RCIC will provide rally information to their group in a separate mission request. The FWT PGR escort and Transition members will depart Fort Bliss at 0900 hours – entourage will meet with the SENM PGR at 0915 at Edge of Texas Restaurant – SENM Patriot Guard Riders will pick up escort duty (All FWT PGR members are encouraged to continue on to Cloudcroft with us). Any Las Cruces PGR members participating in the escort will meet the group either at the Edge of Texas at 0915 hours or J&J Mini-Mart at 1015 hours. At 1015 hours we will stop at J&J Mini Market; 1957 US 54, Alamogordo, NM for a quick refuel and meet up with the Air Force contingent. We will continue on to the Trestle Overlook on US Route 82 for a VFW Commander’s welcome, Forest Service briefing, and visit by Smokey the Bear. We will then continue on to Mad Jack’s Mountain Barbeque in Cloudcroft for lunch. NOTE: Any PGR members wanting to eat lunch with us MUST inform ASC Jim “Deacon Jim” Ernst of your desire NLT 8 May 16 so we can have a head count. FWT PGR RCIC will be responsible for contacting Jim with a head count of their members wanting to eat lunch. All who are part of other groups, please forward this Email as appropriate. Remember to ride with the PGR all you have to be is a Patriot. No previous military service is required, nor do you have to have a motorcycle.
