In coordination with the Missing in America Project, the Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to honorably transfer the remains of 17 veterans from Southeastern Washington to the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake on Thursday, August 18th, 2016 Through the hard work of the MIAP volunteers, these remains have been recovered from local funeral homes and coroners offices in the region, and positively identified as veterans whom are qualified for honorable military interment.
The Northeast District of PGR has been asked to meet the Southeast District in Ritzville and assist them in transporting these remains to Medical Lake so these Veterans can be given their proper, respectful, interment later this year along with other veterans remains who have been recovered throughout the state. This year, remains from Central Washington and Western Washington will also be transported on the same day and will join us in our final movement from Ritzville, Washington. In total, 50 unclaimed remains will be delivered to the Washington State Veterans Cemetery.
There will be two Rally points for this mission, the first will be for those who wish to ride to Ritzville to meet up with the SE District and return to Medical Lake. The second will be for those willing to Stand a Flag Line and await the arrival of the remains to Medical Lake. There will be LEO escort on this mission.
