Ft. Jackson, SC
The organizers of the Fort Jackson 6th annual Run for the Fallen, honoring South Carolina Service members killed in combat, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in honor of those whom we have previously stood for as they came home for the final time at 0730 (7:30 a.m.), Aug. 13, 2016, at Hilton Field.
This free of charge 5K run/walk also supports wounded veterans and the surviving family members of those killed in action. This run helps to aid the healing process for those Americans that have been affected by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Surviving Gold Star Family members and wounded warriors will be in attendance at the run.
This run is not a fundraiser, but instead shows the Army still cares, and that the families can turn to the Army whenever they need help and that there are services provided to assist them in their time of need. Fort Jackson soldiers will participate in the run and many of them will carry on their bib the name of a South Carolina soldier who died while on active duty since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on our nation.
Please join me to show these families that we still remember.
