(Ride Briefing 0945)
M & G at the Lum Park, Hwy 210 just on the east edge of Brainerd hosted by the Crow Wing County Area’s Yellow Ribbon Network. Targeted attendees: Anyone who wants to honor and remember our fallen veterans and families and especially our Gold Star Families. Everyone is invited and we are hoping to see members of the Combat Vets, Vietnam Vets and Legion Riders. This will give us an opportunity to let others see what we are all about and to find out about what they are about also.
The meeting will be mostly about everyone just getting together and enjoying the company of fellow patriots away from the formality of a mission however there will be a couple of items to be discussed. Meet and see what the Brainerd Sector RC has to say and whats coming up in the Patriot Guard.
Our M & G will be in conjunction with those of some of the other sectors. Here is some of what Rick Rakow of the St. Cloud Sector has to say about the day:
In 2015 we tried a never forget day for all the fallen and it was a great success. For 2016 we are once again having a day to remember. I would like to invite you both to be a part of our day and not to work at it but rather to be a part of the group that will reflect back in time on all the losses we have had in MN. You are welcome to meet with us in Randall or go directly to the State Veterans Cemetery where the main program will be. As you talk to other people please share the information and time lines as this is meant to be a day to remember all the fallen.
So after our M & G anyone who wishes can participate in the ride to Randall, the ride to the State Veterans Cemetery and the picnic at Morrison County Park as follows:
Depart For Randall MN at 10:00
Randall VFW to open at 11:00 AM for anyone wanting to start there
Following the Brainerd Sector meeting at Lum Park many are traveling back roads to the Randall MN VFW to meet up with other PGR Sectors, Gold Star Families, families of all fallen Veterans, and all others interested in wanting to honor Veterans. Note: Anyone may participate in all or any part of the days events. You can feel comfortable attending any part of the day. You will be with those having the same Patriotic interests as you do. All types of vehicles are invited.
Note: All time lines are approximate at this time. This is a rain or shine event. Any type of vehicle and whether you get there by yourself or as a group is up to you. If/when you know you will be attending please RSVP your Ride Captain so we have some idea of how many to prepare for.
We plan a slow (we do have to do the speed limit on Hwy 210), safe, relaxing ride to Randall with at least one stop (at Pillager) to allow anyone to catch up.
