The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the Leon County Schools to stand a flag line during the 2016 Leon County Schools Memorial Day service. The name of Senior Chief Vernon Foster will be added to the Wall. Senior Chief Foster was a 1971 graduate of Godby HS in Tallahassee. He was a 16 year veteran of the US Navy and was serving aboard the USS Starke in the Persian Gulf in 1987 when an Iraqi pilot fired Exocet missiles at the USS Starke, killing 37 members of our US Navy, Senior Chief Foster was one of the sailors killed in that attack.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 25 May 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Bloxham Building on South Calhoun Street.
We will stage at Miller’s Ale House, 722 Apalachee Pkwy., at 12:15 p.m. and go kick stands up at 12:30. Flags will be provided. Let’s turn out and honor this veteran who gave all and stood for us. Let’s stand for him.
