The PGR is requested to attend a Congressional Gold Medal presentation to three Korean War Veterans of the 65th Infantry Regiment.
The 65th Infantry Regiment “The Borinqueneers” received the Congressional Gold Medal as a group in Washington D.C., however, some were unable to attend and will receive the medal at this ceremony.
The “Borinqueneers” served our Nation during the Korean War and received the following:
1 Medal of Honor
10 Distinguished Service Crosses
256 Silver Stars
606 Bronze Stars
2771 Purple Hearts
Recipients during this ceremony are:
Miguel Martir-Lopez, PFC, K Company 1951 – 1952
Florencio el Lorenzo, PFC, F Company, 1950 – 1952
Information on the 3rd recipient is unknown at this time
Several dignitaries are schedule to attend this ceremony and assist in the presentation.
Please bring your 3 X 5 American Flags and join us as we stand in Honor and Respect for our Korean War Brothers, as they receive their long awaited awards for their selfless service to our Country.
