The United States’ National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed across the nation on the third Friday of September each year. Many Americans take the time to remember those who were prisoners of war (POW) and those who are missing in action (MIA), as well as their families.
Shaw Air Force Base (AFB) in Sumter, SC is holding a POW/MIA recognition ceremony Friday, 16 September 2016 and the Shaw Green Knights MC have invited the PGR to attend to help show honor and respect with a flag line.
The event is Shaw AFB’s memorial ceremony to remember and honor POWs and those still MIA. Riders will be following the runners carrying the POW/MIA flag along the base main road to the site of the ceremony. A flag line will be established at the ceremony site once the runners arrive to the site.
