The organizers of the South Carolina Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk have again invited the Patriot Guard Riders and other groups to line the Blossom Street Bridge with a flag line to inspire the runners as well as to honor the fallen heroes of our country.
South Carolina runners will include New York City firefighters, Fort Jackson Soldiers, Midlands’ first responders and family members of our fallen heroes. The ALR, PGR, CVMA, and other invited guests will honor those serving and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. All groups, all riders, all non-riders are welcome to stand. Please join us as we stand a flag line to show those in attendance that the American people support them and appreciate their service and sacrifice.
The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Building for America’s Bravest is a program of the Foundation that builds Smart Homes for our most catastrophically injured service members returning home. Each home is custom designed to address the unique needs of each individual. Energy efficient, automated and easily accessible—these homes use “adaptive technology” to help our most severely injured heroes live better, more independent lives. When the call came, these brave service members went. They made extraordinary sacrifices in our place.
