With great sadness I must report that America has lost another member of The Greatest Generation.
The family of Vincent Maccaro has requested the Patriot Guard Riders escort their loved one from the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 30152, to his final place of rest at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. It will be our honor to do so.
Tech Four Vincent Maccaro entered the Army November 1944 in New York City. He proudly served his country in Japan and the Philippines until his honorable discharge in January 1947. He met and married his wife Lillian in Japan. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal, Asiatic and Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
Mr. Maccaro is survived by his two daughters, one son, seven grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
We will assemble at Winkenhofer Funeral Home NLT 9:15 am for our briefing and then line up for the escort to the Georgia National Cemetery. We will depart the funeral home at approximately 10:00 am with LEO escort to GNC stopping at the PIC building. At the appropriate time, we will move to the assigned shelter where we will stand a silent flag line during the inurnment service and the rendering of Military Honors. The inurnment service at GNC is scheduled for 11:30 am.
