ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Patriot Guard has been requested to honor MSgt David Carney and we do so gratefully, with honor and respect. We will escort our hero to the National Memorial Cemetery for military honors that he rightfully deserves. MSgtDavid Carney enlisted in the USA following graduation from Tucson Pueblo High School. Since he was a gifted musician, playing the oboe, clarinet, and piano, he had hoped to join the Army band. The USA had other plans for David. He became a specialist in weapons, both small and large. David spent over three years in Vietnam. He, consequently, suffered later in life, as a result of exposure to Agent Orange. David served our nation a total of nine years. While serving he earned the following commendations and awards: National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Expert M16 Medal; 3 Overseas Bars. We, the Patriot Guard Riders of Arizona and the Patriot Guard Riders nationally, send our heartfelt condolences to the family and thank David for his service that has helped give us the freedom that we enjoy.
