Hilton Garcia Ramos, 59, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

AE2 Hilton Garcia Ramos, 59, a US Navy Veteran from Lexington Park, MD died 26 August 17. Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, he and his family moved to New York City in 1962. He loved airplanes, and would often watch them land as they made their way to Kennedy Airport. He graduated from East New York Vocational & Technical High School’s Aviation program, and enlisted in the USN in 1978. He proudly served in the Navy for eight years as an aircraft electricians Mate (AE), three years active duty and five years in the Navy Reserves, based out of Patuxent River Naval Base. After his discharge, he continued to work at the Naval Air Test Center. He was part of the F/A-18 A/B and E/F Programs in the early 80’s. In 1984 he began his career as an Electromagnetic Compatibility Project Engineer which lasted for twenty-one years. In 2005 he transferred to the SAIL Branch where he worked at the time of his death. He was the recipient of many awards and commendations. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, two sons, two daughters and two beautiful grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

AE2 Hilton Garcia Ramos is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery on 7 September 2017 at approximately 1430 Hrs. PGR has been invited to escort him and his family to his final resting place and then stand tall silent and proud in honor of the Navy Sailor, his family, friends and comrades at arms. We are honored to do so.
